Hello all,
We are now starting to plan for the fund raising we will be doing for little Nthabiseng, so watch this space for further information. We have something planned for the 5th of May and are just finalising the date. It will be great fun and a brilliant laugh – I promise you that. All we ask is that once we notify you of a date, that you will try to be there and hopefully bring along a friend or two. It will be a Saturday night and will cost around R150 per person. Nthabi is more than worth it and I am sure that you realise your money will be well spent. YOU SEE THERE IS ALWAYS A REASON FOR A GOOD PARTY!!!
Jordan and Nthabi have now started Grade 0 – WOW! They are both so excited and think they are so big.
Don’t forget to read through the website please and see if you are able to help little Nthabi in anyway. Listen to Jordan and Nthabi’s sound clips to hear them talking. Obviously you will need sound for this.
Thanks again for your time and take care…
Love Kerry, Stephen & Jordan. The pics are of our past holiday on the Coast.

Jordan has grown up into a real little princess that loves all the girly things like shopping for fairy, shoes and clothes, all pink of course. She is still the same kind and caring angel she has always been but now knows how to express it verbally and not just with hugs and smiles. Everyday she laerns new words and theysoundso cute - we are so proud of her. She loves being a BIG GIRL now, a whole 5years old and therefore is keen to do everything herself from bathing, dressing and most importantly making her own clothing choices - much to Kerry’s horror!!!
Her hearing is almost perfect in our opinion, she can hear the smallest of sounds - something we believed would never be possible. She loves music and she loves singing her own versions of songs. Her talking has improved dramatically and is quickly catching up with her 'hearing' friends at school.
We are very happy with our decision to move our family to Pretoria so that Jordan can attend school at Eduplex in Queenswood PTA - SA, even though we both work in Johannesburg, the travelling is so worth our while. Eduplex has very focused and dedicated staff and even though the classes are much bigger than her previous school in JHB the idea of having a ratio of one hearing impaired child to three normal hearing children works very well. Her teachers are very loving and take great care of Jordan and her hearing equipment - it was a great move!.
Apart from that, Kerry has opened up a stunning shop called ‘Mee’ in Parktown north which is doing very well. We are all very proud of her and what she has achieved. I am now at a company called DVT Gauteng in Hyde Park and enjoying it so much, although I am still trying to get used to waking up at 4:30 in the morning to miss the traffic.
Anyway I hope are all keeping well and we wish you all a joyous holiday season with a new year filled with exiting new opportunities.

Jordan has now been implanted for about a year and a half and she is amazing us with beautiful new words and sayings everyday. Since the beginning of the year she has been attending a specialised school called the Talk Shop in Bryanston, Johannesburg. The school and staff are out of this world with the care and teaching expertise. Since Jordan joined the Talk Shop she has come out her shell and excelled exponentially.
Jordan remains a very loving and caring child and is a hit with everyone, including the boys at school which worries dad a bit:-) As mentioned her speech is doing so well and she is now stinging 3 and sometimes 4 word sentences together, without even think about it. Her pronunciation of words is also getting clearer and clearer all the time. She loves to tell you everything that is going on which is very positive as it means she does not only talk to get things but just to have a conversation.
The 94.7 Highveld Stereo radio station are currently (2004) doing a drive to help raise funds for Cochlear implants for kids. As you might or might not know the implant device along cost around R 180, 000.00 each so all the support you can offer will be greatly appreciated. I would like to sincerely thank 94.7 for always helping those in need. They really are a special bunch of people and do a good job of making us proudly South African and caring for those its people.
Jordan is hearing
November 2005 - Jordan gets her second implant for free
Discovery Medical Aid has given Jordan her second implant and no cost to use at all. That is a cost of around R 154,000.00 which I think is amamzing and I would like to thank them for making such a big commitment to our families well being. They are always on the for front of giving thier members the best care money can buy.
October 2nd 2002 - Jordan is hearing
The switch on went very well. She heard all the sounds but got a bit scared when we hit the high notes as she has never heard that pitch of sound.
Due to her fear of this new thing in her life she has been a bit scared of wearing the device but today when it fell off she actually started to cry to have it put back on. How cool is that! We are so happy, you can not understand what it is like to see your child hear things for the first time. Things we take for granted and she is being a lot more verbal. Check this movie file out to see her react to sound for the first time :-)
View Movie (2.4 MB MPG) September 3rd 2002 - Jodan has her first implant operation
Jordan had the operation on Tuesday the 3rd September 2002. She came home the next day and is back to her little old self. We have also paid for the first implant and hearing device. You have given Jordan the miracle of hearing and allowing her to be part of a wonderful world full of sound and laughter. She will always be grateful to you all for your support, love and prayers and as parents we can not tell you how all of this has been life changing and how much we appreciate what you have done for us. Some pics of Jordan with her new head gear:) pics.
Jordan's London Fund raising Party raised over £ 2,000.00
So many people SMS'd us to tell us what a good time they had and what special friends we have. We can not agree more and we miss them all a lot. Thank you all for going to the party and helping raise so much money for Jordan. You are all very special and we are extremely blessed to have so many caring friends so far away, yet so close to our hearts:-)
Thank to our special friends, strangers and especially to the Woodman and the band and all that helped make this such a wonderful occasion. Take care and we hope to see you all soon when you come back to sunny SA.
Our friends @ Rufus Leonard
Thanks to her and a few others like Jess they raised over £2,000.00 for Jordan. The amazing thing was they did this by getting people to sponsor others "not to drink" for a fortnight. I used to work at Rufus Leonard and the people there are the best you will ever get to work with. I miss working with them and going for a pint or two after work. Thank you all for your support and the care you have shown us from so far away.
A special thanks to them for also designing and printing some really cool posters for he pub party our friend had at the Woodman. Thanks a ton Carl.
Lucy You are an angel and always where:-) ![]()
Barry Hilton comedy evening
This special couple is Craig and Arriette Craig is one of those amazing people we all wished we had as a friend. He is just one of a kind and lucky for us, he is a very good friend who arranged a comedy evening with Barry Hilton (one of the the top comedians in SA), a delicious 3 course meal and entrance to a very nice club all to help raise funds for Jordan.
Thanks to him and his helpers we raised R 13,400.00
Thank you Craig, Saints and all those who helped to make this event such a success and such a "JOL" as we say in SA. So many people contacted us to thank us, yet it was not our doing.

Kayleigh and her mom need your help too
Her mommy works at the school our Jordan will be going to soon. She is a single mom and she is one of the nicest ladies you can wish to meet. As a single mom Kayleigh's mom needs you help very badly, trust us when we say the costs for all the various things are high, very high... so please send some of you spare cash their way.

Kerry and I decided a while ago that due to the overwhelming support we have received from people far and near that we wanted to give back somehow. The ways we would like to do this is by using this site to help other parents raise funds and to donate some of our fundraising money to others. We have committed to donate R10,000.00 rand to 1/2 other kids who need an implant. I would like to introduce you Jordan who needs your help, Jordan yes another one just a boy and a bit older at the age of three years old. We met him last weekend and he is very cute and full of beans.
For more information follow this link.June 2002 - Right when we started - talk about looking back
This site is dedicated to raising funds for our daughter Jordan who is 16 months old and profoundly hearing impaired. We have tried various hearing aids for the past six months with no improvement. She is currently using one of the strongest on the market and still does not react to sound in any manner or form.
So why do we need your help?
Jordan's only hope is to have a Cochlear implant which will allow her to hear the world around her and thereafter learn to speak. Parents we have spoken to have said it can only be described as a miracle and from what we have seen, it is.
Once the Cochlear is in, children hate the fact that at bath times it means taking them out as they feel isolated and separated from the world around them.We found out that the medical aid will only pay for the first implant!!!
The only problem is that the costs are extremely high. One Cochlear implant costs around R 199,500.00 and the medical aid WILL only pays R 75,000.00 of that which leaves us with a bill of R 124,500.00 which we just do not have. If we do the second ear that will mean we need to raise R 249,000.00 and this excludes all speech therapy and special schooling costs. So if you would like to donate money, items to raffle or just your time to help raise money for the Cochlear. Those of you in the service industry can maybe donate your time like a free haircut, manicure, massage,... all this will go towards Jordan's fund raising.
Thank you for all your help and support, we appreciate it more than you can imagine.
